Getting Here…
There are three international airports you can fly into:
CHETUMAL, 40 mins from Bacalar Luxury bus (ADO) leaves every 30 minutes from the airport to the center of Bacalar. From there grab a 7 min taxi (approx 40 pesos) to the retreat space.
TULUM AIRPORT, 2 hours 40 mins from Bacalar Luxury bus (ADO) leaves every 30 minutes from the airport to the center of Bacalar. From there grab a 7 min taxi (approx 40 pesos) to the retreat space.
CANCUN AIRPORT, 5 hours 40 mins from Bacalar The ADO buses at the airport do not have a direct route to Bacalar. You must go to the bus station in central Cancun to grab the luxury bus (ADO) that leaves every hour to the center of Bacalar. From there grab a 7 min taxi (approx 40 pesos) to the retreat space.
**The ADO site doesn’t always take foreign cards, but they take Paypal. Booking early can sometimes get you a lower rate. Reach out to us if you’d like support during any of this process.
**If you provide us with the time of your arrival in Bacalar, we may also be able to give you a ride from the bus station to the retreat space.

All of these items are optional, not necessities, and you can buy most of the items in town if you prefer.
Cash is king in Mexico and particularly in this small town of Bacalar, it is NECESSARY to have PESOS for things like shopping at the market, hiring a taxi, etc.
